NEVERMORE Guitarist To Film Instructional DVD In August

July 8, 2009

Rock House, the leader in music instruction, will produce a level 1 and level 2 instructional DVD series featuring NEVERMORE guitarist Jeff Loomis. Taping for the project will begin in August.

Loomis' solo album, "Zero Order Phase", was released in September 2008 through Century Media Records.

As a result of his invaluable contributions to NEVERMORE's trademark sound, Jeff Loomis has become one of modern metal's most recognizable guitarists and the source of many of the last decade's best riffs. Taking the classic techniques he learned from listening to legends like Jason Becker and Yngwie Malmsteen as a teen and applying his own ingenuity, he has managed to carve his own niche and create an instantly recognizable style.

NEVERMORE will enter the studio in August with producer (and SOILWORK guitarist) Peter Wichers (who previously worked with NEVERMORE vocalist Warrel Dane on Dane's solo debut, "Praises to the War Machine") to begin recording their long-awaited follow-up to 2005's "This Godless Endeavor", tentatively due in early 2010 via Century Media Records. Longtime friend and collaborator Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ARCH ENEMY, EXODUS, MACHINE HEAD) will once again be handling mixing duties.

Songtitles set to appear on the CD, which is tentatively titled "The Obsidian Conspiracy", include "Emptiness Unobstructed" and "Without Morals".

NEVERMORE's "The Year Of The Voyager" DVD last year entered the German DVD chart at position No. 82.

Jeff Loomis performed at the Musikmesse Frankfurt 2009 fair, which was held April 1-4 in Frankfurt, Germany.

Video footage of his appearance at the Schecter booth can be viewed below.
