NIGHTRAGE: In Writing Mode
June 6, 2008Multi-national thrashers NIGHTRAGE have issued the following update:
"Marios [Iliopoulos, guitar] along with Olof [Mrck, guitar] and Antony [Hmlinen, vocals] are currently in heavy writing mode for our fourth album, and the result so far is 100% BRUTAL melodic death metal with a healthy dose of blast-beats, ethereal melodies and hook-lines that should be hard to shake out of your head!
"We have tried to make songs that represent the history of the band and also come naturally without forcing anything,
"This time all the NIGHTRAGE fans will be pleased and we will try to make the best NIGHTRAGE album ever heavy, uncompromising and metal all the way.
"Antony's vocals are coming really heavy, warm, and passionate like the [Tomas] Lindberg [former NIGHTRAGE and current DISFEAR/AT THE GATES singer] glorious days, and Marios and Olof have the best chemistry ever, both in songwriting and guitar collaboration.
"The songs so far have a very old-school feel, without lacking originality, and represents a conscious search for what has been NIGHTRAGE's little unique enclave in the quite crowded 'melodeath' scene.
"That's the best way to describe it, really.
"Some songtitles so far are: 'The Failure of All Human Emotions', 'Among Wolves', 'Opposite in Black', 'Abandon', 'Shed the Blood', 'Wearing a Martyr's Crown', 'Mocking Modesty'.
"Our main focus for the moment is song writing, but we will take a break or two this summer to spread our disease!
"First up is the Rockweekend festival in Sweden on July 19th with our brothers in FIREWIND and SOILWORK!
"Any Swedish fans out there come support us and our friends, and we might even premiere a new song or two for you."
NIGHTRAGE's third album, "A New Disease Is Born", was released in April 2007. The CD was recorded at Hansen studios in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, MERCENARY, FEAR MY THOUGHTS, HEAVEN SHALL BURN).
NIGHTRAGE last year recruited Arizona-based singer Antony Hmlinen (also in BURN YOUR HALO) to replace Jimmie Strimell.
