NINEDENINE Confirmed For 'BBC Radio One Live'

October 7, 2002

Alternative British rock/metal act NINEDENINE have been confirmed as part of this years BBC Radio One Live event, which takes place in Nottingham at the end of October. The band have been asked to appear at one of the fringe events and will perform at The Old Angel on Sunday, October 27th, on a bill that features the X-RAYS and JOSIAH. Admission to the show is free. NINEDENINE's performance will be recorded for future broadcast.

In other band-related news, former EARTHTONE 9 drummer Si Hutchby has been replaced by ex-HARDWARE tub-thumper Aynsley Dickinson, who was initially brought in as a temporary measure while Si was AWOL. Aynsley's position was made permanent following recent live dates with the band. Completing the new line up are Leigh Oates (vocals),Andrew Stone (guitar) and Joel Graham (bass guitar).

Commenting on the situation, bass guitarist Joel Graham said: "Due to Si's absence and other work commitments it seemed logical for us to move the band forward with Aynsley. Momentum with the band is building and we've now got record company interest. Ultimately we didn't feel that we could bring this a halt.

"It was a very difficult and uncomfortable decision to part with Si. We would like to thank him for his time and contributions to the band and wish him all the best with his future plans."

The band continue to promote their Scars EP with further live dates at Bolton The Alma Inn on November 23rd, Sheffield Boardwalk on November 25th, and Leeds New Roscoe on December 4th.
