NOCTURNAL RITES: In Songwriting Mode

November 3, 2004

Bassist Nils Eriksson of the Swedish power metallers NOCTURNAL RITES has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"Hi all, just thought I'd brighten your day with an update on our current songwriting venture. As always, when we're talking about the best metal band in the world, I guess it comes as no surprise that it's all going well. So far I guess we have about five songs and a bunch of ideas for some more. It's kind of interesting how we've started the process this time around. Usually we sit there with a truckload of fast songs when we're halfway through. This time, though, we have a lot more midpaced and heavy stuff. Wierd. We'll see how it plays out. But I am sure we will write the album of the year, like always. It just struck me that we might just be THE best band in the world, and that is taking every genre into account. If anyone tells you differently, they're wrong."
