NONPOINT Frontman To Contribute To New COLD CD

April 4, 2002

NONPOINT singer Elias Soriano and DOLLSHEAD's Sierra Swan will contribute to the third full-length release from COLD, entitled Year of the Spider, which is tentatively due in October through Flip/Geffen Records. Frontman Scooter Ward recently told MTV that the upcoming CD might surprise some fans who favor the hard sounds of "Just Got Wicked" and "Send in the Clowns" from the group's last effort, 13 Ways to Bleed on Stage, as the new material is not dissimilar to the emotive vibe of that album's "Bleed" and "Confession".

"Every time we put out a record, we try to step it up a notch," the singer stated. "We'll use more symphonic kinds of sounds, and my vocal style is going to change a little bit because I'm trying out a lot of new things. So I think it's just going to be a step up from the last records.

"There's definitely some heavy sounds, but this is more like a heavy SADE record. It's different but it's cool."
