OTEP To Speak Directly With Fans Via USTREAM
May 29, 2009This Saturday, OTEP frontwoman Otep Shamaya will take time out of her busy recording schedule to do one of the things she holds most dearly: speak to her fans. OTEP will be using the live interactive video broadcast platform, Ustream, to answer fans' pressing questions on the upcoming album, "Smash The Control Machine", live from the recording studio in Los Angeles. "The webcam chats are very important to me and connect me to my fans in a much more personal way," comments Otep. "They get to see the 'behind-the-scenes' of the recording process and I get to share the more intimate moments of creativity with them. Spending a little time with them is my way of thanking them for their belief and support."
Visit OTEP's Ustream page this Saturday, May 30 at 5:00 p.m. EST/4:00 p.m. CST for an hour-long chat with Otep Shamaya herself and be among the first to get the scoop on "Smash The Control Machine", which hits stores August 18. "Smash The Control Machine" also welcomes the return of OTEP's original lineup — Evil J on bass, Moke Bistany on percussion, and Rob Patterson on guitar, who will also be making appearances at the chat. Ms. Shamaya says of the album, "The economic crisis is hitting every working family in this country. The album and its title track, 'Smash The Control Machine', will lay bare the greed and corruption that fostered this calamity, but will also focus on the undying spirit of the working class that always fights the good fight."
