Over 2,000 SLIPKNOT Fans Turned Away At Glasgow In-Store
February 14, 2002Over 2,000 SLIPKNOT fans were turned away from a scheduled SLIPKNOT in-store appearance at Glasgow's Virgin Megastore this afternoon, February 14th, after more than 3,000 people showed up in hopes of meeting their masked heroes. According to a NME.com account, the doors were locked at noon after 1,000 devotees were already packed inside the store and police units were called to help in-store security staff turn away the disappointed fans. No incidence of vandalism or rioting was reported, and the crowd eventually dispersed after politely chanting, “We want in.” "I guess you can't please everybody all the time,” SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison told NME. “We always used to stay till everyone was done, but now we can't really do that anymore. It's sad for everyone who couldn't get in."
