OZZY OSBOURNE Vows To Press On With 'Rasputin The Musical'
November 10, 2005The Stage Online is reporting that Ozzy Osbourne is determined to push ahead with plans to develop a musical around the life of Russian mystic Grigori Rasputin.
The rocker-turned-reality star is looking for backers for "Rasputin the Musical", either in the West End or on Broadway, but concedes it could take a while. In an interview for tonight's "Frank Skinner Show", he said: "It is something I've wanted to do for a long time. I’ve really enjoyed doing it, it has been a lot fun. Nothing ventured, nothing gained."
Osbourne penned the songs for the show with songwriter Mark Hudson after watching a BBC documentary on the controversial figure. While it has taken almost five years, the music is all written but the script needs to be developed. He admitted that getting the project on stage could "take a lifetime."
The singer, who has made a cover of THE BEATLES classic "In My Life", said that if eventually plans didn't work out then some interesting songs have come out of the project that could be released.
