PAPA ROACH Interviewed By NIKKI SIXX; Audio Available
June 7, 2010PAPA ROACH was interviewed on "Sixx Sense", the new national radio program hosted by MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx, at the fourth annual Rock On The Range festival, which was held May 22-23 in Columbus, Ohio. You can now listen to the chat below.
PAPA ROACH has unveiled more details about its upcoming album, "Time For Annihilation...On The Road and On The Record", due out on August 31. The record will feature a mix of live tracks and new studio cuts, including a first single called "Kick In The Teeth". PAPA ROACH frontman Jacoby Shaddix told The Pulse of Radio why the band decided to issue a live album now. "Everybody keeps going, 'Man, you guys, you know, you guys kill it live, you guys are a great live band,' and we were like, 'You know what, it's time for us to do a live record,'" he said. "And so we wrapped up 2009, we were doing dates with SHINEDOWN, and we started recording shows towards the end of that. We got nine live songs, and then we have five studio songs, and so it's kind of like the best of both worlds."
Shaddix explained why the band split the album between live and studio material, saying, "We've always wanted to capture the energy of our live shows but didn't want to do the same old thing that most bands do, so we decided to put five brand new studio tracks on the record along with some of our favorites from the road and we are really proud of the final result."
"Time For Annihilation" will be PAPA ROACH's first release on Eleven Seven Music, after parting ways with Interscope/Geffen Records earlier this year. Shaddix said about the move, "We wanted to work with a team who's focused on rock music rather than pop and urban. Moving to a successful indie like Eleven Seven Music gives us that without sacrificing the manpower of a major."
PAPA ROACH's last full studio album was 2009's "Metamorphosis". The band will start a new run of dates on June 5 in Chicago.
