PEAVEY-Sponsored JOE SATRIANI CLINIC Tour A 'Tremendous Success'
May 20, 2004Peavey endorser and legendary guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani demoed his new co-designed Peavey JSX guitar amplifier on a U.S. Clinic Tour that ran from May 11 in Overland Park, Kan., through May 18 in Portland, Ore. Thousands of guitar enthusiasts attended the clinics, including 450 the closing night.
Reese Marin, owner of Bellevue American Music in Bellevue, Wash., says the clinic he hosted on May 17 was a "tremendous success" and drew a very positive response from his region's music community. "The attendees, as well as the staff, were all very enthusiastic regarding the amp and how it sounded," he comments. "Joe came on stage and played to a standing-room-only audience, then answered fans' questions and graciously signed autographs for the next 2 1/2 hours. We had 245 people inside and another 40 or so outside looking in the windows."
Satriani road-tested several JSX prototypes during the 2003 G3 Tour. "It was really great to hear the JSX in an actual working situation," he says. "It was interesting to hear how the shape of my guitar solos changed (simply) because I was so excited about what was coming out of those Peavey speakers.
"And," he adds, "it's great to know that the JSX is a completely modern, affordable amp. That means a lot, because guitar players are always chasing tones, and now, finally, they're all in this amp."
