PLACE OF SKULLS Guitar Stolen
April 13, 2010PLACE OF SKULLS, the Knoxville, Tennessee-based band featuring former PENTAGRAM guitarist Victor Griffin, has issued the following update:
"Bad news on the DEATH ROW/CHURCH OF MISERY Euro tour. A guitar was stolen from DEATH ROW/PLACE OF SKULLS guitarist Victor Griffin in Vienna, Austria on April 7th at the Arena venue.
"The guitar was onstage after the final song and was taken before the band and crew returned to the stage for tear down.
"The guitar is a cherry red Gibson Les Paul Standard with serial number 93177428.
"We have a very good indication of the person that took it. Several connections are being followed.
"If this person would like an arrangement to return the guitar without any further criminal persuit or action against him, you may contact Klaus Koschel at: [email protected]."
PLACE OF SKULLS recently finished recording its fourth album, "As A Dog Returns", at Lakeside Studios in the group's hometown.
"As A Dog Returns" will have a total running time of approximately 55 minutes and will feature artwork by Evolution Printing & Design of Manassas, Virginia.

PLACE OF SKULLS' third full-length album, "The Black Is Never Far", was released in 2006 via Exile On Mainstream Records. The CD was recorded at Lakeside Studios with producers Travis Wyrick and Mike Dearing, and featured Griffin alongside Dennis Cornelius of REVELATION and OVERSOUL fame and drummer extraordinaire Tim Tomaselli. Longtime friend and original PLACE OF SKULLS/DEATH ROW bassist Lee Abney also made a guest appearance.
