1349 Planning 'Extensive' European Tour
November 12, 2010Norwegian black metallers 1349 have issued the following tour:
"The Legion is back home in a snowy and wintery Norway, gathering strength for our next raid.
"First of all, we want to thank all our North American fans that came to our shows — we hope it was as enjoyable and intense for you as it was for us. Perhaps did we manage to ignite the flame in some of you that saw us for the first time...
"It was a great tour.
"Being on the road with TRIPTYKON is nothing less than an honour, and the two bands truly enjoyed each other's company. We grew to like YAKUZA a lot, too! Then, it's very inspiring for us — musically as well as spiritually — to perform 'Demonoir' material live. It's truly challenging, but when everything works; it's like succeeding with a dangerous act of black magic, where we get to open the gates to vast depths of darkness and connect with the immense powers that streams out of there. Getting to share it with you was special to us.
"We saw the U.S. leg of Weltenbrand as the tour that would conclude our touring cycle with 'Demonoir' in the U.S. and Canada. But as the tour is now finished, it feels like there is still work to be done with the album in North America. There were areas we didn't get to cover neither on the 'Weltenbrand' tour nor on the leg we did with CANNIBAL CORPSE in the spring (Southeast, mainly); that's one thing, and there is also the sensation that the task simply isn't finished yet. So who knows — there might be another round! We will keep you posted and let you in on relevant developments.
"We most definitely haven't forgotten about our fans and supporters in Europe. Plans are made as this is written, plans that will result in an extensive 1349 tour around Europe. It has been oh so long since the last time, but we promise to make up for the time you have waited to again experience live Aural Hellfire. News regarding our forthcoming European tour will be posted shortly!"
Sick Drummer Magazine has uploaded drum-cam footage of 1349's Kjetil-Vidar "Frost" Haraldstad performing the song "Nathicana" during the band's October 23, 2010 concert at Slim's in San Francisco, California as part of its North American tour with TRIPTYKON. Watch the clip below.
"Demonoir", the fifth full-length album from 1349, was recorded at Studio Nyhagen, deep in the woods in Norway with Tom G. Warrior (HELLHAMMER, CELTIC FROST),who showed the greatest respect for the task and played a key role as motivator and catalyst. His technical role of the recording was that of a co-producer, but far more important was his presence and understanding of what a challenging project "Demonoir" was.
1349 is:
Ravn - Vocals
Archaon - Guitar
Seidemann - Bass
Frost - Drums
