POWER QUEST Bassist To Sit Out PROGPOWER UK Festival Appearance
January 2, 2008Keyboardist Steve Williams of the UK melodic power metallers POWER QUEST has issued the following update:
"First news update from the POWER QUEST camp for 2008 concerns the appearance at ProgPower UK III on March 28th and 29th.
"Bassist Steve Scott has returned home to New Zealand to attend the wedding of his brother and to have an extended vacation while he is there. Unfortunately this means that he will not be back in time for ProgPower UK. This all means that this will be the first POWER QUEST show to feature a bassist other than Steve Scott.
"Nevertheless, I am extremely pleased to announce that Steve's replacement will be a certain Mr John Jowitt, who many of you may know from his work with IQ and also with ARENA, FROST and CAAMORA amongst others.
"I met John for the first time in October 2007 during rehearsals for the Caamora show in Poland, and we got on famously from the word go. He is a fantastic musician and bassist and I’m looking forward to hitting the stage with John and the band in Bristol!"
POWER QUEST recently completed the recordings for their fourth album, "Master of Illusion". Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Hearts and Voices", "The Vigil", "The Right Place and the Wrong Time", "Count My Sins" and "The Tragedy Suite". An early 2008 release via Napalm Records is expected.
POWER QUEST last year had their first two albums re-released as double-disc sets with bonus DVD material. These twin re-releases have been repackaged with extended sleeve notes and new artwork. They are available through Majestic Rock and their European distribution channels or the POWER QUEST online store.
