PROPHETS OF RAGE Release New Single, 'Made With Hate'

June 24, 2019

PROPHETS OF RAGE, the supergroup featuring members of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, PUBLIC ENEMY and CYPRESS HILL, has released a new single called "Made With Hate". The track, which was produced by Brendan O'Brien, can be streamed below.

In addition to bassist Tim Commerford, drummer Brad Wilk and guitarist Tom Morello, who all played together in RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and AUDIOSLAVE, the band features PUBLIC ENEMY's Chuck D and DJ Lord along with CYPRESS HILL's B-Real.

PROPHETS OF RAGE is currently working on the follow-up to its self-titled debut album — which debuted at No. 3 and No. 4 on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums chart and Top Rock Albums chart, respectively — slated for release next year.

On what inspired the track, Chuck D expressed: "As with many songs, 'Made With Hate' was formed out of a conversation amongst ourselves about the level of passion fuel it takes to create. Especially when attacking something of hate. You must create the energy to hate 'hate'. To have peace, you have to despise hatred with a passion for peace and attack it. You can't have hate take over anything especially history, so you have to fuel yourself to attack in thought word and deed with equal passion."

This summer, PROPHETS OF RAGE is slated to bring its high-energy live performance to Europe, including a headlining show at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in London. Prior to this, they will also perform at this year's Mad Cool festival in Madrid, Spain.

Last July, PROPHETS OF RAGE released a new song called "Heart Afire".

Morello told The Pulse Of Radio that PROPHETS OF RAGE started as one thing and took off in a way no one anticipated. "In PROPHETS OF RAGE, there's both a fury and a joyfulness," he said. "Like, this band started as an idea that responded to an emergency, a societal emergency, and it became a band that — it became a real band."

Commerford said about the new LP's sound: "It's a different direction, it's not the same, and I love that... We're growing and we're creating and we're going in a new territory and I feel really good about it."
