QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Frontman In Need Of Surgery

July 11, 2007

Launch Radio Networks reports: QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE frontman Josh Homme is in serious need of a knee operation, but won't go under the knife until the band completes its summer tour. According to NME.com, Homme told Stereo Warning, "(The knee is) messed up bad. It hurts. I gotta go home and have surgery again. On stage it hurts a lot. I have at least three or four moments a set where it feels like boulders underwater, when they hit each other. It's the only way I can describe it. But what do I do, go home? I gotta finish what I started. Everyone cancels all the time for hurting their finger and stuff like that. That's not me."

Homme was seen limping and using a walking stick last weekend at the U.K.'s Oxegen and T In The Park festivals, where QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE performed. He first had surgery on the knee back in 2005.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's new album, "Era Vulgaris", came out on June 12 and entered the Billboard chart at Number 14.

The band will begin its "Duluth" tour of North America on July 22 in Costa Mesa, California, with most of the dates hitting smaller markets.

Homme has also been working on the third album from the EAGLES OF DEATH METAL, the garage-rock band for which he plays drums.
