QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Release New Song To Fans; Audio Available
April 14, 2007A brand new QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE track, entitled "Era Vulgaris", was reportedly released in a special package sent to fans who won a secret competition on the QOTSA forum. The song, which will not appear on the group's upcoming full-length CD of the same name, features a guest appearance by NINE INCH NAILS frontman Trent Reznor. QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have set June 12 as the release date for the band's fifth studio album, "Era Vulgaris". The CD, which was previewed at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas last month, will feature 11 new songs and guest appearances from STROKES singer Julian Casablancas and former QUEENS vocalist Mark Lanegan.
Michael Shuman of the Los Angeles act WIRES ON FIRE is reportedly the new QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE bassist. The band has been without a permanent bass player since the dismissal of Nick Oliveri in 2004.
"Era Vulgaris" follows up 2005's "Lullabies to Paralyze".
