RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' FLEA, JACK OSBOURNE Fork Over Cash For MARILYN MANSON Paintings
September 20, 2002RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS bass player Flea and Ozzy Osbourne's son Jack were two of the celebrity buyers of paintings by shock rocker Marilyn Manson at a launch party for Manson's Hollywood art exhibit on Thursday.
Flea reportedly spent spent $30,000 on a portrait of Elizabeth Short (a.k.a. Black Dahlia),who was chopped in half and left naked in a Los Angeles field 55 years ago in one of Los Angeles' great unsolved crimes, while Osbourne was trailed by a film crew for his family's hit TV show The Osbournes as he laid out $15,000 on a Mad Hatter painting titled "Harlequin Jack as the Absinthe Bunny."
The Golden Age of Grotesque, an exhibit of watercolor paintings by Marilyn Manson, will be held Friday, September 20th from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions. The event will be the first showing of Manson's artwork and features over 50 paintings. The gallery is located at 6522 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, California, and admission to the gallery is free. Marilyn Manson will be in attendance throughout the evening.
