Report: LED ZEPPELIN Fans Desperate For Tickets
October 26, 2007Press Association reports that LED ZEPPELIN fans have resorted to desperate measures in a bid to bag tickets for the band's reunion.
The group is reforming for a one-off charity gig at London's O2 Arena next month and more than one million people applied for the 20,000 tickets on offer.
Virgin Radio breakfast DJ Christian O'Connell had a pair to give away on his show and challenged listeners to demonstrate just how much they wanted them.
Ray Daniel, a fireman from Swanley, Kent, turned up at the central London studio and stripped naked before streaking around Soho.
"I saw them in '74 in Earls Court and it was the best concert I've ever seen," he said.
Mark Barnham got up at 3am — on his wedding anniversary — and drove from his Brighton home to the Virgin headquarters where he shaved off his hair, the first time it had been cut in 21 years.
One man walked from Dartford in Kent to the London studio with "Led Zeppelin" emblazoned on his bare chest in permanent marker.
