REVEREND Drummer's Daughter Critically Injured In Car Accident
April 29, 2007REVEREND drummer Jesse Vara's daughter was critically injured in a car accident early this morning (Sunday, April 29). She underwent emergency surgery and continues to be in critical condition.
According to a press release, Amber Vara was returning from a special REVEREND performance in Austin, Texas when the driver of the vehicle she was riding in lost control and rolled the car several times, ejecting Ms. Vara from the vehicle.
Commented REVEREND's manager Brian Keith: "We were shocked to learn about the accident while on our way back from Austin. Amber left Austin about an hour before we did when Jesse got a call from his father about the accident. The family is doing the best they can right now and we all need to keep Amber in our prayers."
REVEREND's upcoming CD, which was recorded at Blue Cat Studios with Grammy Award-wining producer Joe Trevino, will include the last lyrics penned by late REVEREND/METAL CHURCH singer David Wayne, titled "With This Needle I Thee Wed". "This song will no doubt be a controversial song, but is aimed at the addictions of life, and how it changes people forever," the band previously explained in a press release. The upcoming CD will be the group's first with new frontman Michael Lance (ex-ANCIENT CROSS),who replaced David Wayne last year.
Wayne died on May 10, 2005 due to complications from injuries he sustained in a head-on automobile accident several months earlier. He was 47 years old.
