RIGOR MORTIS To Perform With 'Godfather Of Gore' At TEXAS FRIGHTMARE WEEKEND
January 7, 2006Director Herschell Gordon Lewis, who is widely credited with inventing the slasher horror film in the early 1960s with the release of his film "Blood Feast" in 1963, will join reunited Texan thrashers RIGOR MORTIS live on stage at the Texas Frightmare Weekend in early February. "We are, of course, honored to have the chance to dedicate our song 'Wizard of Gore' to the man that made the movie with the same name that inspired our song," the band write in a statement. "But, now the 'Godfather of Gore' himself is going to get on stage and sing with RIGOR MORTIS."
The Texas Frightmare Weekend is the largest horror convention in Texas with guest celebrities, film screenings, panel discussions, and more. The event will be held at the Grapevine Convention Center in Grapevine, TX on February 4-5.
The original RIGOR MORTIS lineup of Bruce Corbitt, Mike Scaccia (MINISTRY, REVOLTING COCKS),Casey Orr (GWAR, X-COPS, THE HELLIONS, THE BURDEN BROTHERS),and Harden Harrison (PERVIS, SPEEDEALER, MITRA) will launch a 20th anniversary tour later in the month.
