RISE TO ADDICTION Parts Ways With Bassist
January 7, 2010Bassist Joel Graham has left RISE TO ADDICTION — the British band which features in its ranks former BLAZE members John Slater (guitar) and Steve Wray (guitar) — and has joined British thrashers EVILE. RISE TO ADDICTION states, "It's a real shame, but Joel's replacement is already in rehearsals, so there won't be much downtime for the band."
Comments Graham: "Although I'm moving to EVILE, I can't help but feel that's it's a shame that I can't practically do both bands.
"I have had some amazing times with RISE TO ADDICTION and met some great people along the way.
"I will miss Leigh [Oates], Aynsley [Dickinson] and Steve, but I will be sure to keep in touch with them as much as possible and we will remain great friends. More then anything I wish RISE TO ADDICTION all the best and look forward to hearing, seeing and doing some festivals together with them in the very near future."
RISE TO ADDICTION's second album, "Some Other Truth", was released in November via Mausoleum Records. The follow-up to 2007's "A New Shade Of Black For The Soul" was produced by Wray and features 10 songs that "show inspired natural progression and focus of the RTA sound," according to a press release. "From the turbocharged rock-punk opener 'Sick of Me' via the doom-riffed 'The Whisper' to the shred-fest within 'One More Time' and the catchy hooks of 'Fade Away', RISE TO ADDICTION's 'Some Other Truth' is certainly a collection of the finest 'modern-day classic rock' delivered by a fresh band that know...understand... and show respect to their peers."
