RITCHIE BLACKMORE: RAINBOW Reunion Rumors Are False

Rumors of former DEEP PURPLE guitarist Ritchie Blackmore reforming RAINBOW with either Ronnie James Dio or Joe Lynn Turner are false, a spokesperson for the guitar legend says. The rumor allegedly was circulated by a German magazine, which fabricated the quote that Blackmore was looking to reform RAINBOW, said the spokesperson. The livid Blackmore had the magazine print a retraction in its next issue. Blackmore is content with partner Candice Night in BLACKMORE'S NIGHT. The couple released a studio album earlier this year in Germany, "Fires At Midnight", and the band recently recorded a double live CD, "Past Times With Good Company", which is slated for a U.S. release sometime next year. It's currently available as an import, and it hits Japan on Nov. 20.
