ROBERT PLANT Says His Band Helped Bring Him Back To Songwriting

May 10, 2005

Launch Radio Networks reports: Former LED ZEPPELIN singer Robert Plant releases "Mighty Rearranger" today (Tuesday, May 10),a new album recorded with his latest band, the STRANGE SENSATION. It's Plant's first album since 2002's Grammy-nominated "Dreamland", but while that disc included only three originals and a batch of cover songs, "Mighty Rearranger" features all-new material. Plant says his songwriting was spurred by the band. "Our band have got such amazing influences, from PORTISHEAD, from playing with RONI SIZE, from playing with JAH WOBBLE, from playing with CAST," he said. "There's so much music in there already, and so many personalities in there, that it's very, very strong. And when I had 10 tracks, I just suddenly went 'My God, it's coming back!'"

The STRANGE SENSATION lineup includes former PORTISHEAD and RONI SIZE drummer Clive Deamer, PORTISHEAD and MASSIVE ATTACK bassist John Baggott, guitarist Skin from CAST, bassist Bobby Fuller, and multi-instrumentalist Justin Adams, who's played with SINEAD O'CONNOR and JAH WOBBLE.

"Mighty Rearranger" was preceded by the first single, "Shine It All Around".

Plant and the STRANGE SENSATION kick off a North American tour on June 15 in Providence, Rhode Island.
