ROSS ROBINSON To Produce THE CURE Album, VEX RED To Contribute

October 31, 2002

Ross Robinson, wildely credited for the early success of such acts as KORN, SLIPKNOT and LIMP BIZKIT, will produce the next record from THE CURE. The as-yet-untitled effort, which will be released next year via ArtistDirect Records, will include contributions from the British quintet VEX RED, whose debut album, "Start With A Strong And Persistent Desire", was produced by Robinson.

"We saw Ross quite a few times while we were on tour [in the States], he came to our California shows, but he's been busy," explained VEX RED guitarist Ant Forbes to NME.com. "He's working with Robert Smith just now, he's going to be producing the next CURE album. Apparently they like us, so we're going back in the New Year when they start recording."

It is not yet clear exactly what contribution the band will make. "I don't know what we'll be doing, we'll find out when we get there," said Forbes. "I never get star-struck, but I will when I meet Robert Smith, we're all massive fans."
