RUSH To Play More North American Dates In The Spring
September 3, 2007According to a posting on the RUSH fan site RushIsABand.com, the Canadian rock power trio will play several indoor dates in the U.S. and Canada in the spring of 2008. This leg will kick off with a two- or three-night stand at the Etess Arena at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City sometime in March. The band will then move up The East Coast to Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Atlantic Canada to wrap up the first set of dates before heading south for a handful of shows in late March through early April which will include New Orleans, New Mexico, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Mississippi.
To coincide with RUSH's forthcoming U.K. October arena tour dates, the band has released its critically acclaimed "Snakes & Arrows" album as a "Special 2007 UK Tour Edition" two-disc seet (CD and DVD).
Comprising "Special Tour Edition" packaging, including a stunning 28-page full-color booklet, Disc 1 (CD) features the original stereo mix of the studio album, while Disc 2 (DVD) includes tons of interactive features audio mixes in 96 kHz/24-bit hi-resolution stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound. The DVD disc also includes "Rush: The Game of Snakes & Arrows", a unique 45-minute video documentary on the making of the album, MP3 files of every audio track, wallpapers, buddy icons, screensaver and a scrollable dialog written by Neil Peart that provides additional discovery into the creation of the songs. The documentary gives fans direct access to the band and producer in the recording studio. The band members provide audio commentary and there's a segment on the documentary where Neil Peart records his drum parts. There's also footage of the band jamming on their instruments plus verbal commentary into the ideas and insights behind the song and lyrics.
RUSH's 18th studio album, "Snakes & Arrows", debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard album chart with sales of 93,000 copies. The disc is the first collection of all-new RUSH material since 2002's "Vapor Trails" and the 27th RUSH release to make the Billboard album chart. The band's chart peak was in 1993, when "Counterparts" debuted at No. 2.
