SAMAEL Wine Is Here

June 6, 2009

Swiss extreme metallers SAMAEL have issued the following update:

"Some of you could feel it coming… today we’re proud to present you the first SAMAEL wine. 'Alliance' is a fine assemblage made from grapes of Gamay, Diolinoir and Sangiovese. It should surprise the connoisseurs by its mixtures of dark and deep aromas. Only a very limited edition of this 2009 vintage is branded SAMAEL, so if wine is 'your cup of tea,' don't lose time. You can order your bottle right now from the SAMAEL online shop, www.samael.info/shop."

"Above", the new album from SAMAEL, entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 99.

Audio samples of all 10 tracks that appear on "Above", are available on Amazon.co.uk.

In an interview with Beyond the Dark Horizon, SAMAEL frontman Vorph stated about "Above", "It is like an enhanced version of our three or four first albums, maybe the missing link between 'Ceremony of Opposites' and "Passage". With the 'Era One' project we've tried to work on different influences, [and] with 'Above' we stripped everything down. It is a metal album through and through. . . 'Above' is a little bit of a tribute to our early years as a band and to our first influences. If you listen to our two last albums, you can tell our roots go beyond that but 'Above' is a good résumé of what pushed us to start playing music in the first place."
