SCARAB Becomes First Egyptian Band To Perform At Germany's WITH FULL FORCE Festival

Cairo, Egypt-based metal band SCARAB won the "United We Rock" battle of the bands which gave local/regional unsigned rock bands in the Middle East the opportunity to perform at two acknowledged and acclaimed international music festivals, With Full Force in Germany and Desert Rock Festival in UAE.

With Full Force is an annual three-day metal festival held in Leipzig, Germany. Its 16th edition will be held from July 3 to July 5 and will feature performances by over 70 bands, including MOTÖRHEAD, SEPULTURA and SOULFLY, to name a few.

Formed as a combination of different musical tastes and personalities, SCARAB stands as a united musical entity. The group's music is described as "heavy, powerful, raw and brutal yet melodic," while the lyrical theme is mainly about spirituality, theories and philosophy in how the bandmembers perceive the world around them.

Despite the many obstacles and financial problems SCARAB has faced, 2008 was a successful year for the band, cilminating in the recording of the group's first full-length album, entitled "Blinding The Masses".

Commented SCARAB in a statement: "We are very excited to be playing with great bands that have influenced us for years now and defiantly looking to have the German metal fans see, feel our music and agree to it. We have a message of globalizing metal and having a unity regardless of what culture you're from. With Full Force and Desert Rock's organizers Center Stage Management (CSM) granting us the chance to showcase our music is a dream come true. This will mark history in the metal world for us coming from Egypt."
