SCARLET SINS Singer On Opening For MTLEY CRE: 'This Is Perfect For Us'

June 25, 2008

Toronto, Ontario, Canada-based all-female hard rock band SCARLET SINS will support MTLEY CRE at Sarnia, Ontario, Canada's annual Rogers Bayfest on Thursday, July 10 along with Canadian rockers REVOLVER.

SCARLET SINS lead singer Sylvya NuVynska told The Sarnia Observer that almost crashed her car when she got the call to open for the CRE.

"I was just like, 'Oh my god,'" she said. "I've been a fan of theirs forever."

The group was chosen from 600 other bands for the opening spot, by the CRE bandmembers themselves.

"When we heard about the show, we thought, 'This is perfect for us; that show is ours,'" said NuVynska. "I mean, what better band to open for than MTLEY CRE?"

NuVynska said the members of SCARLET SINS can keep up with the guys.

"We're like the dominatrix version of MTLEY CRE," she said. "I think the world is ready for a hard, heavy female band right now."

"Our music is hard, heavy and dark, but very melodic," said NuVynska. "It's sexy and intense."
