SCORPIONS Extend Record Contract, Prepare To Release DVD
February 11, 2005Veteran German hard rockers SCORPIONS have extended their record contract with the German branch of Sony/BMG and are said to be putting the finishing touches on a "best of" DVD, tentatively due late spring/early summer. In addition, the group are said to be planning a new album release in the fall, although it is not presently clear if the new disc will consist of brand new recordings or it will be a compilation of previously released material.
SCORPIONS recently completed a North American tour in support of their latest album, "Unbreakable", which was released in the U.S. last June through Sanctuary Records. The CD was recorded at Peppermint Park Studio in Hannover, Germany and was mixed at Wisseloord studios in Hilversum, Holland. The band last year announced the addition of Polish bassist Pawel Maciwoda (SECTION 31, URBANATOR) to group's ranks.
SCORPIONS will be supporting JUDAS PRIEST on a U.K. tour beginning on March 16 at London's Hammersmith Apollo.
