SEBASTIAN BACH Says DAMNOCRACY Ended Up With 'More Ideas Than We Had Time To Record'
March 13, 2006Former SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach has posted an update on DAMNOCRACY, the new band featuring Bach on vocals, Evan Seinfeld (BIOHAZARD; bass),Scott Ian (ANTHRAX; guitar),Ted Nugent (guitar),and Jason Bonham (BONHAM, UFO, FOREIGNER; drums). The DAMNOCRACY bandmembers spent 12 days in Vegas shooting a new VH1 reality TV show, titled "SuperGroup". Filming for the program commenced on February 22, with the premise being to lock several musicians in a house for 10 days and get them to write and record some new original music. Originally the network wanted the group to record an album, but at this time it is understood they will settle for one song and hope for more. In addition to the five musicians, star manager Doc McGhee (KISS) was in charge and was also living in the house for the duration of filming/recording. The all-star band also performed a headlining set at the Empire Ballroom in Las Vegas on March 5.
VH1's "SuperGroup" is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, May 18 at 10:00 p.m.
Commented Bach: "Spent all last night [Saturday, March 11] recording at my good buddy Evan Seinfeld's house [in Hollywood, California]. What was supposed to be a two-hour session ended up lasting 'till 4 a.m. DAMNOCRACY started on many song ideas while in Las Vegas but what with the craziness of the show schedule, we ended up with more ideas than we had time to record during the show. So last night I laid down vocals on a cool song that Evan, Scott Ian, Jason Bonham and myself came up with in Vegas but we did not finish the lyrics 'till now. The song has been forwarded to Ted Nugent for a lead guitar solo although when I talk to Ted about .wav files he thinks it's about surfing! Will let you know more DAMNOCRACY recording plans as they occur."
