SEPULTURA's North American Tour Kick-Off Postponed
November 19, 2006Brazilan thrashers SEPULTURA have cancelled the first few shows on their North American tour, reportedly due to visa/immigration issues. So far the following dates have been called off:
Nov. 16 - Phoenix, AZ - The Marquee Theatre
Nov. 17 - Long Beach, CA - The Vault
Nov. 18 - Sacramento, CA - The Boardwalk
The Long Beach date at The Vault has since been rescheduled for December 22.
Ticketmaster is not currently listing any previously announced SEPULTURA dates prior to the November 26 show at The Venue at Playmakers in Fargo, ND.
In addition to SEPULTURA, the tour features SWORN ENEMY, DIECAST and SUICIDE SILENCE.
As previously reported, SEPULTURA's official web site was recently updated with links to video footage of the band's entire two-song performance on the Brazilian TV show "Programa do Jô" on September 7, 2006:

"Convicted in Life" (Video)
SEPULTURA's appearance on "Programa do Jô" marked the TV debut of the band's new drummer, Jean Dolabella (ex-UDORA),who replaced founding member Igor Cavalera in June.
Igor announced earlier in the year that he was taking a break from the group's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son (who was born in January). Filling in on drums during the band's European tour with IN FLAMES was Roy Mayorga, who played with Igor's brother Max in SOULFLY for several years in the late '90s and again in 2001-2003.
Igor is the second Cavalera to leave SEPULTURA. In 1996, Max Cavalera exited the group after the rest of the band fired Max's wife Gloria as SEPULTURA's manager.
