SEVENDUST's MORGAN ROSE Interviewed By VATER Drumsticks (Video)

November 25, 2010

Vater drumsticks recently conducted an interview with SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose. In Part 1 of the "artist video feature" below, Morgan speaks in depth about his background, influences, his failed trip to MI in California, how SEVENDUST formed, filling in with MÖTLEY CRÜE, how he came up with the design for the Vater Alien Freak model and more. In Part 2, Morgan shares his very personal experiences about the stress that being in a non-stop touring band has had on his body and relationships. He also talks about the music biz and how he has seen it change first-hand over the past 13 years since SEVENDUST started.

As previously reported, SEVENDUST guitarist Clint Lowery may be forced to sit out the first week's worth of dates on next year's "Monster Energy Music As A Weapon V" tour due to the impending birth of his child. Filling in for him will be Bradley Chester "B.C." Kochmit (SWITCHED, DARK NEW DAY, RIKETS).

Clint married Tara Jenkins this past September in St. Louis, Missouri. Photos of the wedding can be found at this location.

In addition to SEVENDUST, "Monster Energy Music As A Weapon V" will feature co-headliners KORN and DISTURBED, along with opening act IN THIS MOMENT. The trek is scheduled to kick off in January.

On September 16, SEVENDUST filmed a video for "Falcons On Top", the official theme song of the Atlanta Falcons football team. The video shoot took place at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta and included an appearance by the Atlanta Falcons cheerleaders.

"Cold Day Memory", the new album from SEVENDUST, sold around 27,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 12 on the Billboard 200 chart.

SEVENDUST's previous album, "Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow", opened with 25,000 units back in April 2008 to land at position No. 19.

"Cold Day Memory" was released on April 20 on the band's own 7Bros. Records, through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group. The CD — produced by Grammy Award winner Johnny K (DISTURBED, STAIND, 3 DOORS DOWN, PLAIN WHITE T'S) — is the group's first new album with its original lineup back together with Clint Lowery's return after his departure in 2003.
