SHADOWS FALL: Recording Update

September 23, 2006

SHADOWS FALL has entered Studio 606 in Northridge, CA with producer Nick Raskulinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, STONE SOUR, RUSH) to begin recording its new album, due in early 2007 via Atlantic Records. The still-untitled project is the Grammy-nominated band's follow-up to 2004's critically acclaimed "The War Within", and its companion release, 2006's "Fallout from the War", both released on Century Media Records.

Commented drummer Jason Bittner: "OK, it's morining #3 today [Friday, Sept. 22]. Yesterday kicked my ass completely. Three more [songs] done, with the second one being the hardest one on the record... and its working title is 'Deicide', so that gives you an idea about its level of difficulty. Anyhow, I have three songs left today, and I should be done... very cool."

Based in Springfield, Massachusetts, SHADOWS FALL first garnered attention from the underground metal scene with their first three releases, "Somber Eyes To The Sky", "Of One Blood", and "The Art Of Balance". Known for their unrelenting live performances, they have toured with a diverse array of artists, among them SLIPKNOT, DAMAGEPLAN, MISFITS, LAMB OF GOD, IN FLAMES, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and GLASSJAW. The group's 2004 breakthrough album, "The War Within", not only debuted at #20 on the Billboard 200 chart but also earned the group a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance and secured them a spot on Ozzfest's 2005 main stage.
