SHINEDOWN Performs Acoustic Set On 'Project 9-6-1'; Audio, Video Available
June 26, 2008Before its June 17, 2008 concert at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Jacksonville, Florida-based hard rock/post-grunge band SHINEDOWN performed an acoustic set for a small audience in the Project 9-6-1 (WKLS, Atlanta) Full Throttle Lounge including "45" from the "Leave a Whisper" album and "Devour" and "If You Only Knew" from the newly released "The Sound Of Madness" CD. Audio and video of the performance can be found at this location.
"The Sound Of Madness" which was produced by multiple Grammy Award winner Rob Cavallo (KID ROCK, GREEN DAY, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE) arrived in stores and at online retailers on June 24. In addition, "Devour" will serve as the theme song to World Wrestling Entertainment's June pay-per-view event "Night of Champions", slated for June 29. The single will also be featured on ESPN throughout the current Major League Baseball season. Some of the material, including the song "Devour", has been influenced by current events, particularly the war in Iraq. Frontman Brent Smith tells The Pulse of Radio what the track is about: "This was a song that was totally representative of the men and women of the United States of America in the military and all the armed forces and what they do for us. But in all reality it's a hat's off to them and all they do for us. But it's also me looking into the eye of the person I'm supposed to look at as the leader of the free world and this is my opinion towards you for what you've done in those years."
