SHINEDOWN Singer's 'Beacon Moment' (Video)

September 25, 2012

Fans of SHINEDOWN may have always wondered why the band's sound varies, not just album to album, but from song to song. The answer can be found in singer Brent Smith's "Beacon Moment." In the clip below, Brent talks about the impact "The Dukes Of Hazard" had on his life, how '80s hair metal was the soundtrack to his teenage years, and the way Otis Redding spoke to him like no other singer ever had.

The "Beacon Moment" is a decision, experience or choice that shapes the outcome of the rest of your life.

SHINEDOWN is taking part in this summer's edition of the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. The third annual rock extravaganza — which boasts a main stage lineup that also includes GODSMACK and STAIND — got underway on August 17 at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kansas, and continues through September 30.

SHINEDOWN's new album, "Amaryllis" debuted atop Billboard's "Rock Albums" chart and at #4 overall on The Billboard 200 — SHINEDOWN's biggest chart debut thus far — with over 105,000 units sold its first week out.

SHINEDOWN has a total of eight No. 1 singles and 15 Top 10 hits, according to Billboard.
