SHINING FURY Land On METAL BLADE RECORDS
May 31, 2003Italian melodic metallers SHINING FURY have inked a deal with Metal Blade Records. The group's debut album is expected in the fall.
Based out of Lucca, Italy, SHINING FURY was formed in 2000 as a vision of drummer Ross Lukather, who wanted to form a new band with young and talented musicians from his area. He eventually found the right people in the shape of Tommaso Pellegrini (guitar),Alessandro Cola (bass),and Francesco Neretti (vocals, also in ATHENA). In the studio, SHINING FURY will be joined by keyboardist Oleg Smirnoff, formerly of ELDRITCH.
Metal Blade is very confident about the future of SHINING FURY. "We know the market is flooded with Italian power metal bands, but the demo the band sent was better than 99% of all that stuff," the label said in a statement. "It really blew us away — we had no other choice but signing them straight away! Their debut album will be like a fresh breath of air."
The band are excited about the collaboration as well. "SHINING FURY is very proud and very happy to have the attention from Metal Blade," they said. "We will start the recordings for our debut album these days and should be finished by the end of June. Be prepared for a fast and heavy album! Thanks to all the people who supported us until now!"
