SICK OF IT ALL: South American Tour Postponed
March 27, 2010New York hardcore legends SICK OF IT ALL have issued the following update:
"Sorry to all our great South American fans, but the tour we had scheduled with TERROR between late July and early August is to be rescheduled to a later date, probably in 2011. Our busy fall schedule in the U.S. and Europe is preventing us from doing it later this year. Hopefully TERROR will still be available to do it with us when we get the dates locked in, but we don't know for certain if the two bands' schedules will line up exactly.
"We'd like to thank all of the promoters who took on the shows — everything was shaping up very nicely and their professionalism is obvious. We appreciate their willingness to bring us down to play South America again and we're eager to do so.
"It's important to make it clear that this is not a cancellation — we just have to move the tour to a different time.
"We'll post the new dates as they're confirmed.
"Going to South America is always special for us and we can't wait for the next opportunity to play for all our fans there again."
SICK OF IT ALL's new album, "Based On A True Story", is scheduled for release on April 20 via Century Media Records (one day earlier internationally). The follow-up to 2006's "Death To Tyrants" was recorded Antfarm Studios in Århus, Denmark with Danish producer Tue Madsen (HALFORD, BEHEMOTH, KATAKLYSM, THE HAUNTED). The cover artwork was created by Ernie Parada and can be viewed below.

The "Death or Jail" song is now available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.
Commented drummer Armand Majidi: "We wrote the song 'Death or Jail' about friends of ours that broke away and ended up following a path that led them to self-destruction or incarceration. We all know people who have made these huge mistakes and it's a really difficult thing to explain, especially when they come from the same place and common background. They don't just turn their backs on their friends because it's as if they're turning their backs on themselves, shutting themselves into a reality that can offer nothing but stress, violence and wickedness. Thank goodness we had the outlet of hardcore to help us vent our frustrations, or we all might have found ourselves in a similar place.
"This song is dedicated to those friends that we wish could have made better choices."
A video for "Death or Jail" will be shot with acclaimed directors Mike Pecci and Ian McFarland (FEAR FACTORY, MESHUGGAH) in the coming weeks.
