In other news, an hour-long documentary film about the making of Diorama is due to be screened globally over the coming months. It will also be released on DVD and home video.
Called Across The Night, the film was directed and produced by long time SILVERCHAIR chronicler, Robert Hambling. It traces the band throughout the creation of their latest album and features loads of behind the scenes footage from all parts of the recording process. A small amount of this footage has already appeared on the bonus CD-ROM short-film which accompanied come versions on Diorama. However, this film version is much more extensive and shows the band at work in the rehearsal room and the studio and even follows Daniel to Los Angeles for the mixing of the album. For the first time ever, it shows the struggles that were involved in making this album.
Across The Night will be aired in the US on the Comcast cable network this month and it will be released on DVD here in early September. Screenings and commercial releases in other countries over the coming months are currently being organized and will be announced shortly.
