SINGLE BULLET THEORY Part Ways With Guitarist, Announce Replacement
July 5, 2004Philadelphia-based SINGLE BULLET THEORY have officially announced the departure of original guitarist Doug Rush. "The split is amicable and is nothing more then a change in Doug's personal life forcing him to quit," states lead vocalist/guitarist Matt Difabio. "Doug has been with me for over 10 years and it's hard to see him go. We were a team of sorts, but I respect his decision and am looking forward to the future."
Replacing Rush in the band's current lineup is longtime friend and SHADOWDANCE guitarist Carlos Alverez. "Carlos and I have been the best of friends for a VERY long time and the band sounds 100% again," states Difabio. "Carlos is an amazing player and his insight and ability are gonna take SINGLE BULLET THEORY to new heights... I am really looking forward to getting back out on the road in late summer and push the hell out of 'Behind Eyes of Hatred'."
SINGLE BULLET THEORY's second album, "Behind Eyes of Hatred", is scheduled for release on August 24 through Crash Music Inc. The CD was recorded at Angry Chair Recordings in Glenside, PA with producer James Murphy and was mixed at Safe House studios just outside Tampa, Florida. This release is "a marked progression for the SINGLE BULLET THEORY sound, ranging in from brutal death metal to acoustic passages and power metal undertones," according to an official press release.
