SKINLAB To Hit The Road In May

February 13, 2007

Acclaimed San Francisco Bay Area metallers SKINLAB have issued the following update:

We've set up a rehearsal schedule, so things are gonna start taking shape here real fast. We've all been listening to the albums, getting stoked to bust out some classic SKINLAB material and hitting the road. Right now the plan is to hit road early May. We've been routing things for a 3-4 week tour based around the Milwaukee Metalfest, which should be cool; there's supposed to be some killer bands playing. Should be killer!! RE:IGNITION and THE MISERABLES will be opening the shows in most cities with direct support coming from a few of our friends splitting in different parts of the country. If we make enough noise we might be able to get our metal brothers PISSING RAZORS to play El Paso when we roll through (let 'em hear ya... reunion show!). Texas, Florida, West Coast, East Coast still got the love for SKINLAB. You fuckers rule... We'll be seeing ya soon! Australia/U.K./Europe we'll be coming at ya soon!!"

SKINLAB bassist/vocalist Steev Esquivel told BLABBERMOUTH.NET back in September 2006, "We're basically gonna be writing a shitload of material and see what happens. There's like five song ideas so far that are pretty badass — just super-heavy stuff.

"There will be another SKINLAB record," he added. "Snake [guitar] and I will be busy with RE:IGNITION for the cycle of our debut album, which means SKINLAB will trailing shortly behind."

SKINLAB 2007 lineup:

Paul Hopkins - Drums
Glen Telford - Guitars
Steev Esquivel - Bass/Vocals
Snake - Guitars

SKINLAB's last studio album, "ReVolting Room", came out in 2002. A double-disc set, entitled "Nerve Damage", featuring alternate versions of studio tracks, several live tracks recorded on the band's "ReVolting Room" tour, plus two new songs, came out in 2004.

RE:IGNITION — the band featuring Esquivel on guitar, Snake on bass, Dave Moore (ex-MINDBENDER) on vocals, Tim Howell (ex-FUELED, SACRILEGE B.C.) on guitar and Mark Hernandez (ex-TECHNOCRACY, TORQUE) on drums — released its debut album, "Empty Heart Loaded Gun", via Corporate Punishment Records.

"Empty Heart Loaded Gun" features guest appearances by guitarist Phil Demmel (MACHINE HEAD, ex-VIO-LENCE) and vocalist Brock Lindow (36 CRAZYFISTS).
