SLASH Records Version Of 'Angry Birds Space' Theme

March 7, 2013

Legendary guitarist Slash (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) has created what is said to be "an incredible all-new version" of the "Angry Birds Space" theme song and you can hear it shortly after opening the newly updated game on your iDevice. A button with a musical note calls up an image of Slash transformed into one of the game's characters, complete with a link to purchase Slash's music.

Compatible with iDevices running iOS 4.3 or later, the newly updated "Angry Birds Space" for iPhone and "Angry Birds Space HD" for iPad are available in the App Store for $0.99 and $2.99, respectively.

Slash has reportedly been a longtime fan of "Angry Birds". Three years ago, he was retweeted on the official "Angry Birds" Twitter account when he quipped that "Angry Birds" is "like a drug, only cheaper."

Back in February, Slash stopped by the headquarters of "Angry Birds" creators Rovio in Finland. "'Angry Birds' found out that I was a big fan and reached out to me," he says in a promotional video which can be seen below. "I really jumped at the chance to get involved."

The "Angry Birds Space" version takes gamers through planets filled with water, strange aquatic life and bad piggies in boats.

Slash isn't the first rocker to be associated with the "Angry Birds" games. Last year's "Angry Birds Friends" series featured customized GREEN DAY pigs, 10 never-before-seen levels and the chance to unlock a brand-new song off the band's "¡Uno!" album called "Troublemaker".
