SLASH'S SNAKEPIT Officially Over, Slash Pursues Solo CD, Izzy Collaboration
January 8, 2002Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash has confirmed in the current issue of Classic Rock magazine that his post-GNR band SLASH'S SNAKEPIT is no more. According to Slash, "You can't reinvent the start of SNAKEPIT. That was my little thing, and it was a blast, seeing all those guys kind of doing it for the first time, but I was kind of carrying everybody (in SNAKEPIT) through that." Slash also confirmed that he is presently working on a solo album, which will be a much more musically diverse offering than his past efforts. In other news, Slash has apparently gotten together with former GNR bandmate Izzy Stradlin before Thanksgiving to record some new material, all of it apparently written by Izzy, for an as-yet-undetermined future project.
