SLAYER's 'Christ Illusion' To Land In Billboard's Top 10

According to Hits Daily Double, SLAYER's "Christ Illusion" (American/Warner Bros.) is poised to sell between 55,000 and 60,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release to land in the Top 10 on The Billboard 200 chart. Meanwhile, UNEARTH's latest effort, "III: In the Eyes of Fire", appears headed for between 25,000 and 30,000 copies, which will likely result in a Top 30 debut for the group.

"Christ Illusion" is SLAYER's first new studio album since 2001, and the first recorded by the group's original line-up — Kerry King (guitar),Tom Araya (bass, vocals),Jeff Hanneman (guitars),Dave Lombardo (drums) — since 1990's "Seasons In The Abyss". The CD was produced by Josh Abraham and executive-produced by Rick Rubin.

"III: In the Eyes of Fire" was recorded at a Seattle studio with producer Terry Date (PANTERA, DEFTONES). A limited-edition version of "III: In the Eyes of Fire" includes a bonus DVD containing the "making of" footage for the album and a live video filmed on the Sounds of The Underground tour.
