SMASHING PUMPKINS Fan's Death Not From Injury
October 1, 2007The Pulse of Radio (formerly Launch Radio Networks) reports: The death of a 20-year-old man at a SMASHING PUMPKINS show in Vancouver, Canada last week was not the result of injuries sustained while moshing or crowd-surfing, according to the Globe and Mail. Following an autopsy on Friday (September 27),Vancouver regional coroner Owen Court said, "There is absolutely no evidence of any injury and therefore I would say, what you would call moshing or crowd-surfing would have nothing to do with this whatsoever. There was no injury on this young man."
The coroner is now doing toxicology tests to determine what killed the man, identified as Kenny Leung of Richmond, British Columbia.
Leung was pronounced dead at a local hospital last Monday night (September 24) after he collapsed while crowd-surfing at the concert.
The PUMPKINS issued a statement on their web site saying that the band was "deeply saddened" by Leung's passing.
