SMASHING PUMPKINS Sign New Management Deal
February 2, 2006According to Hits Daily Double, the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS, Jared Paul and Paul Geary have snagged the reactivated SMASHING PUMPKINS for the Irving Azoff management empire (VAN HALEN, EAGLES, CHRISTINA AGUILERA, FLEETWOOD MAC, JEWEL, AEROSMITH).
As previously reported, SMASHING PUMPKINS are rumored to be a primary target for a headliner at this year's Lollapalooza festival, which will return to Hutchinson Field at Chicago's Grant Park, with dates tenatively set for Aug. 4-6, according to Billboard.com.
The lineup for the event won't be announced for weeks. THIEVERY CORPORATION told Billboard.com last week they would be on hand for the festival.
SMASHING PUMPKINS mainman Billy Corgan promised that he would reform the band last June. In a recent posting on his web site, Corgan wrote, "The surprise I have in store for you all will be announced soon enough..." No other details about the potential reunion have surfaced.
