STAIND, DEFTONES Secure Top Spots On Next Week's BILLBOARD Chart
May 28, 2003As widely expected, STAIND shifted 220,946 copies of their new album, "14 Shades of Grey", to debut at No. 1 on next week's Billboard chart. DEFTONES landed at No. 2, with 167,355 copies sold of their eponymously-titled fourth effort.
STAIND's last album, "Break the Cycle", debuted at Number One in May 2001 with sales of 716,003, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and has since gone on to sell 4.9 million copies in the U.S. DEFTONES' previous disc, 2000's "White Pony" debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 1.06 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. The single "Change (In the House of Flies)" peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks airplay chart, while "Digital Bath" reached No. 16 on the same tally.
