STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Perform Free Concert
October 9, 2002STONE TEMPLE PILOTS fans who just happened to be hanging out at Lummas Park in Miami on Monday got a real treat when the band showed up for a free concert.
The one-hour performance, part of the Nissan Z tour concert series across the USA, took place in front of 2,500 fans, according to published reports. Other shows in recent weeks have included THE WHITE STIPES, COUNTING CROWS, PINK and EVE turning up at expected times in unexpected places.
In other news, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS' Robert DeLeo is hard at work in his home studio recording his first-ever solo album. "It reminds me of a '70s record," the bassist said of the as-yet-untitled effort. "These are all songs that really didn't quite make it to STP records. The songs mean a lot to me."
