SUPERJOINT RITUAL's BOWER: I Hope DAMAGEPLAN Go Platinum

SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist Jimmy Bower recently spoke to the Ozzfest Unofficial Updates web site about a number of different topics, including DAMAGEPLAN, heroin addiction and Ozzfest. What follows are several excerpts from that interview:

On the fight between DOWN and ADEMA at Ozzfest 2002:

Jimmy Bower: "This guy came to our bus, guy was the dude who's KORN's brother... He came to our bus, sitting like this like JJ from Good Times on the couch on our bus. Rex (Brown) wanted to shoot dice with him, but he was like 'I don't shoot craps.' Rex was like, 'Man this is a fun game.' Guy's like 'I don't shoot craps!' So I got up and I start playing with his hair and he threw a punch at me. And it was over..."

On DAMAGEPLAN:

Jimmy Bower: "I wish them luck, and I hope that they do great. It'd be too personal to me to make an opinion on the band. I'd be shit talking about and there's just no reason for it and it's just too much of that from them about us. Am I on dope right now? You see any needle marks...besides the tattoo I got last night. Usually heroin addicts...I'll take my shoes off, show my feet, I'll get naked for ya [laughs]. You wanna look for fuckin' needle marks on me, I will get naked and I would get Phil, we'll get naked for ya....and that's the kind of stuff they're just saying about us and it's uncool, so we decided as a band that, you know, 'Hey man, good luck.' I hope they go gold or platinum."

On possibly sharing the stage with BLACK SABBATH at this year's Ozzfest:

Jimmy Bower: "Right now I think it's a rumor in this stage and I think they're trying to set it up and I'd want them on there more than anything. And if it happens, it happens, but if it doesn't, oh well. Be another day. We're still excited to go out there and do our 45-minute set man and just let everybody really see who SUPERJOINT is. It's gonna be hard though since there's gonna be a bunch of fuckin' seats in front of us and our crowd's gonna be in the fuckin' lawn."
