SYMPHONY X Explain Atlanta No-Show
August 8, 2005According to a posting on SYMPHONY X's web site, the band were forced to cancel their scheduled Gigantour perfomance in Atlanta Friday night (August 5). "Glenn (the merchandise guy) just spoke with Russ [Allen, vocals] on the phone and learned that SYMPHONY X's bus driver is alive, but is in an Intensive Care Unit due to leukemia," the posting adds. "The band truly regrets missing the Atlanta show, but their thoughts and prayers do go out to their bus driver towards getting better. This is a situation that was beyond the band's control. They did make every effort to get to the show but the substitute bus driver did not arrive in time for them to make it happen."
As previously reported, "Rarities and Demos", the anxiously awaited first fan club CD from the official international SYMPHONY X fan club, Church of the Machine, was shipped out last month to fan club members. The CD includes demo material, rare unreleased material, and Michael J. Romeo's interpretation of the "Star Wars" theme, done with over 15 guitar tracks. More information is available at this location.
SYMPHONY X are currently touring North America as part of Gigantour, a six-week festival trek co-headlined by MEGADETH and DREAM THEATER. Other main-stage acts include FEAR FACTORY, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and NEVERMORE. Also appearing on the second stage are DRY KILL LOGIC, BOBAFLEX and LIFE OF AGONY.
