SYSTEM OF A DOWN Perform To Capacity Crowd At SOULS 2004 Benefit
April 26, 2004SYSTEM OF A DOWN played in front of a capacity crowd at their Souls 2004 benefit concert Saturday night at Los Angeles' Greek Theater.
The concert raised awareness of the World War I-era mass murders of Armenians by Turkey's Ottoman Empire, which Turkey and several other nations, including the U.S., refuse to recognize as genocide, according to Rolling Stone.
Despite expectations to the contrary, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, who are in the midst of writing a new album, due by the end of the year, didn't play any of the new songs. Bassist Shavo Odadjian said it wasn't for lack of material. "We have a lot of songs, but we're not going to play them and perform them until they're really ready," he told Rolling Stone.
